I congratulate Sara O'Donohue for starting this web page to remember those brave sailors who died on the Barham. I served on the staff of C-in-C, Admiral Cunningham, as a cypher officer. I saw the whole of the sinking from the Admiral's flag bridge in HMS Queen Elizabeth, the flagship. I wrote a book about my Mediterranean experiences called "A Midshipman's War. See my home pages and read about sinking. |

Hi, what a very good informative site, I am looking for a Wilfred Burton, who we have all believed, to have died, when the Barham was sunk, but we cannot find his name anywhere associated with the Barham |

I am interested in locating anyone who served aboard the Barham in the Mediterranean, or the Jupiter when she went to the Java Sea area. My cousin Jack Stones served aboard the Barham and was on survivor leave in Alexandria when he was drafted to the Jupiter. He went down with the Jupiter. I would like to hear from anyone who knew Jack from either of the above ships. John Wynn |

As the son of Surgeon Commander E.R Sorley, I am proud to be the first, or one of the first to sign the Barham Survivors Association Guestbook and to honour the memory of all those who lost their lives on the great ship. Thanks to the efforts of my niece, Sara O'Donoghue, their names shall now be memorialized, not only in Westminster Abbey, Portsmouth and in other places, but in cyberspace for all time. |

Hello, I set up this site and am granddaughter of one of the 861 people who lost their lives when Barham sank. I thought it would be a good idea to have a guestbook so anyone connected with the Survivors association, or who has an interest could exchange thoughts, ideas etc. Think of it - those people could never have imagined they would be commemorated in cyberspace 59 years later! |
