Thomas Arthur Page |
Sara, thank you for setting up the web site. my father Thomas Arthur Page served on HMS Barham between 7th april 41 to november 41 as AB. He was just 21 years old. he was one of the lucky few and managed to survive. if anybody out there remembers him i would be gratful if they would contact us. regrettably it wasnt untill after his death that i found out about his navel record. my mother said that he lived with his own memories every day. since his death my sister (whos e mail this is ) and i are gathering information and passing it on to his grandchildren. May the memory of thoses brave souls that were lost on that fatful day be never forgotten. we are indebted to their bravey |

Alexander Kerr Boyd |
My grandfather was serving on H.m.s barnham as an AB gunner. His name was Able Seaman (gunner) Alexander Kerr Boyd. He was badly injured due to shrapnel and exposure from the sea, as he was undiscovered for 48 hours, but was luckily spotted and taken to Alexandria, Egypt. Unfortunately my grandfather passed away in 1981, but I would very much like to hear from anybody that knew him. He served on various ship's, another being the Malaya. The memory of all the sailor's that gave their lives for my future shall be remembered for eternity. |

Hi Sara, My dad was a survivor and wrote a couple of excellent poems about the sinking and being picked up by the Hotspur. He was 17, the second youngest survivor. One of his poems was actually read out in the abbey some years ago I believe - but his name was not put to it. Dad died 5 years ago - I thought you might like to read the poems - I also have a great photo taken of him upon joining Barham - 2 days later they were in the battle of Matapan! I thought I could Email them directly to you but can't seem to find an Email address - can you give me the address please so that I can send these items to you. Thanks very much Sara ...you're doing a great job - dad would have loved it! Kind regards - Carol. |

Herbert Carlton Anders |
my grandfather Herbert Carlton Anders served on HMS Barham as Chief Sickberth Attndnt, cpo, Would be interested in any mentions of him in survivors accounts. my father was only nine when his dad died on Barham so we know very little of him which is sad, bar letters sent homefrom Barham. We were all surprised they were on ship for over 4 years. To the man who wanted service record - try public Records Office, london, we got grandafthers and grt grandfathers from here plus Berts birth certificate still held by navy -not too expensive to do either. |

Holly R.Whitehouse |
My father,Engineer Commander Holly R.Whitehouse, was lost in the sinking of H.M.S.Barham. I would be interested in reading Frank Wade's book..can anyone give me an ISBN,or let me know where I can get a copy? There is also a book written about 40 years ago called "Tubal Cain". It has pictures and description of the sinking. Thank you Sara for setting up this website,I shall tell my children and grandchildren to visit and sign the book! |

Yours is a valuable Website, for information on HMS Barham is scarce. I think, however, you would be better served if you designed your pages so that they were more easily read and, if one desired, copied. By that I mean that I find the use of long, narrow columns annoying. However, I may be the only one with that problem. |

Sara: I am happy as one of the first Americans to sign the guest book. We here in the states have had to little information on the Royal Navy operations during WW2. Perhaps its because we have had our own naval tragedies. Thanks to the you and the internet H.M.S. Barham and her crew will always be remembered. Here's to the Barham and those that still are with her. Now if I can find out how all that happened to the Barham was kept quite during World War 2 I can move on. |

My grandad was on the HMS Barham when it sank I'm 11 and in school we are learning about this which gets me upset because of the amount of men that were on the Barham my grandad died about 5 years ago and we still have the poems that he wrote and we still have pictures of the Barham and of my Grandad just before he left.I was thrilled when my parents and my nan went on this site because now I know that my grandad went to war to make sure that all of us now have a future and I just hope that every body appreciates what they sacraficed for us and that I will allways be thankfull to all those soldiers who faught.sorry gotta go love jess |

Ernest Jones |
My husband was Boy Telegraphist - Ernest Jones D/JX162202. He was second youngest on board Barham, and survived the sinking. He passed away in October 95 - he would have LOVED this site! I will send a photo of him taken when he first joined Barham at age 17 which can be added to this website. The whole family is very proud of Ern and Barham, and are thrilled to have found this site. |
