Harold G Hayter |
I am the grand daughter of Harold Hayter. I have submitted a photograph, that I believe was him.Although it is on the suvivers page, this is an error and should be on the lost page.My mum was only twoyears old when he lost his life. If anyone can help me with any info on him, it would be appriceated. He was acting chief petty officer telegraphist. What a fantastic face lift and keep up the good work, regards, Lynn |

My Grandfather was killed on HMS Barham at some point, presumably when she exploded. Never have known much about him, only vague references remembered from childhood. I had noticed there was a survivor of the same name I assume this is not him, given was a couple of crew members with the same name. I noticed The Barham in the museum on Crete a couple of years ago by coincidence really had no idea of the connection. Do any members or the association have any information/records about him? Thankyou. |

William 'Bill' Gidley |
my grandfather WIlliam Gidley a survivor of the HMS Barham just passed away recently. I can't imagine what he went through at 17 years old. I was wondering if anyone could scan and e-mail me a detailed photo or drawing of the Barham Crest, the crest is on a few websites but there is no detail. Thanks |

My dad was in the RAMC during the second world war.He told me when a story of when he was stationed in Naples with his field ambulance unit, his cousin whose ship was docked there came to see him. They had a great night out catching up with all the news. After that my dad never saw him again as he told me his ship was torpedoed with great loss of life.I now know that Eugene was a sailor on the Barham, and I was so pleased to find this site.My dad actually named my older brother Eugene in memory of him.God bless all those who lost their lives on HMS Barham.Lest we forget. |
