Does anyone have any knowledge of Cyril George Morfett, Royal Navy, born 9 Sept 1895. He had a picture of HMS Barham in amongst his papers. He died in 1954 |

Harold Wainwright |
I am the oldest son of Joseph Wainwright, the older brother of Harold. I've just watched the two videos, and found them enormously moving. On a lighter note, I often wonder what I'd have been named if my uncle had survived. |

William "Bill" Buick |
I am trying to trace anyone who may remember my father, William "Bill" Buick, AB, Gunlayer, Pompey Rating. He was I believe the "Padres Runner". My Grandson is very interested in the family history. All the males have served in the RN. I have collected various photos and letters both from my father and Grandfather and passed these on to my Grandson. If anyone remembers my father or any stories about him, would you please be so kind and contact me on the above email address. May I at this time also congratulate you all on this wonderfull site and keeping the memory of the "Barham" alive |

James Gerrard |
James Gerrard was my uncle who lived in Wigan/Morcombe all I remember of him is a portrait of him hanging in my mother dining room in his HMS Barham uniform I know he was over 6foot tall as when he came home he was always banging his head on the top of doors!!!! I would like to hear from anyoone that remembers Jimmie. It was very sad to finally see photographs of the Barham and know my uncle served on her. To this day I find it very difficult to watch old footage of the war and the men that lost their lives. |

Arthur Bryant |
Arthur Bryant my late uncle who died aged 18 on HMS Barham, joined the navy at 16. He applied to join the navy and as he was only 16 required the signature of my grandfather. He refused but my uncle would not let the matter rest so in the end my Grandfather agreed to sign his papers if he managed to dig over a large patch of ground in one day. Knowing how much joining the navy meant to her son my grandmother helped him to clear the ground and dig it over. When my grandfather returned home at the end of the day he saw the completed job and duly signed the papers. After his death my grandparents never spoke of the way he came to join the navy. My mother remembers walking with her brother as he left home for the last time, he walked with her as she went to school, she turned left to wards East Pennard and waved to each other untill out of site he carried on the six miles to Castle cary Station and back to his ship. |
