Just wondering if anyone else caught the Channel 4 News last night ? There was a piece on Helen Duncan and a campaign by her relatives on the Downing Street web site for her to recieve a pardon for her conviction for witchcraft . She was imprisoned and sentenced for stating she had a 'vision' that the Barham had sunk prior to the official release of the news . They also showed the clip of the sinking and summarised the events of 25th November 1941 . The petition is via the below email address and closes on the 22nd April . Mr. Samuels was my divisional Officer at HMS Ganges in 1956 and was an inspiration to an unruly bunch of boys. If he should see this or you can inform him that I still have a penny that he hit twice with a .22 rifle whilst on the range. |

My father served on HMS Barham 1940-1941. He always mentioned that he was a cook helper and how proud he was to serve on this great ship. Any body out there who can give me some info about him at that time? Thank you so much. |

My Grandmothers Brother James Evans served on HMS Barham and was lost in the tragic sinking. I am trying to trace further information and will add details to the website once confirmed. I reiterate thanks on behalf of the family for this website and its moving content. |
