 I am trying to trace my grandfather - an australian -
not sure if this name is correct spelling - could it be Barrett as I have been told. Also my father\'s uncle Jackie Adams from Gateshead was onboard and is in the list of those lost.
I would be grateful for any information. |

| my mother bonnie mutton was married to bill harrison in 1938. I called him uncle bill and his photo was on my grandmothers piano in aldershot. my parents were married in 1944, but my mother still lays flowers on the 25th november at the souhsea memorial where bill`s name is displayed. |

I almost missed it but have just watched the \"Blitz Witch\" on UK Channel 4 TV where Tony Robinson investigated Helen Duncan.
It did show some MI5 files, the newsreel footage and Times newspaper.
The program also revealed that they had used the Casualty List on this site to identify the sailor at the seance as SYDNEY ARTHUR FRYER, Son of Horace Frederick and Emma Louisa Fryer, of Copnor, Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Nothing to convince me she wasn\'t a fraud. Her grandson said that the Barham was lost with all hands a statement that has made it into some reviews of the program.
Even with MI5 files they could not be more precise about the date of the seance than sometime in December which is no more specific than other investigations. The program did recognise that the date is significant. |

As a Boy Seaman in HMS Ganges, my Gunnery Instructor was Petty Officer Samuels & my Seamanship Instructor was Chief Petty Officer Cubitt. I understood PO Samuels to be a survivor of HMS Barham. Was this so? I met him in Devonport Dockyard around 1956 and by this time he was Lieutenant Samuels. A gentleman of the first order and one of only a handful of officers whose names I remember after almost 12 years of service.

| My dads cousin was Timothy, and my mums brother was Stanley. They both died on HMS Barham, but this was before my mum and dad married, or had even met each other. Isn\'t life strange? |
