Alfred Wagstaff |
My uncle Alfred Wagstaff (P/K.65587) was born 6.1.1907 in Gosport, Hants. He and three brothers went to sea as had their father and uncles before them. Alfred was serving on HMS Barham at the time of his son\'s birth in November 1935, and on HMS Blanche in March 1938 at the time of his daughter\'s birth. Unfortuntely, he went down with HMS Tweed in January 1944. |

Fred Piercy |
Hi, My father Fred Piercy is still alive and was asking if anyone remembers or knows of his pal Jack Uniacke.Apparently Jack leapt into a turret after it had been bombed and put out a cordite fire(which could have flashed to the magazine) with an extinguisher, they all thought he was an unsung hero at the time.Jack left the ship shortly before the sinking. |
