Good Morning. I would just like to let you know that a rowing race for the \'Barham Cup\' shall be raced tomorrow, Saturday 30th August from the town of Teignmouth to Newton Abbot. This race, rowing regatta style dinghies forms part of Teignmouth Regatta and is run every year with some emphasis placed on the history of HMS Barham, as she was the first battleship to have 15\" guns anchored off Teignmouth in June 1924. I hope this may be of some interest to your members. Regards Roger Gallagher |

I have seen the video of this ship sinking in many a movie and TV documentaries. but have never seen anyone put a name to it. so i did some research and finally now i know. i have posted it on a ww2 message board. and the debate began on what caused this explosion. i always suspected a magazine. and this website now proves it. so a salute to a noble and gallant ship and crew. may they all RIP. I served in the USN during Vietnam. Gary |

My father was on HMS Barham when it blew up, rescued and hospitalised in middle east. Not metioned on any crew lists. Do you have any info on him. I believe he was kept afloat by admiral Pridam Wipple after the sinking. Many thanks. Peter. |

David Raymond Jones |
In memory of David Raymond Jones a Marine died 25 Nov 1941 on HMS Barham. I see the CWGC have got the year wrong, they have 1944 and not 1941 |
