thoughtful, touching and engaging testamony to the brave men of HMS Barham and their families. I was lucky enough to see service in the RN as an AB in peacetime, so I can only imagine how awful it must have been for all concerned. Thankyou for your sacrifice. RIP. |

I served in the U.S. Army during Jimma\' Carter\'s term, so it didn\'t really count. My son is a Bubble Head in the U.S. Navy today. Thank God there was a time when our Nations stood up to tyranny, and didn\'t follow political correctness. The Sailors on the HMS Barham did not die in vain. They fought for the Principles and Eternal Truths our countries used to follow. Thanks for posting this site. |

Irvine Templeton |
My grandfather served aboard HMS Barham from October 1920 to January 1923. His name was Irvine Templeton and he was a Stoker 1st Class.
I am trying find out how I can check the ships movements in this period as I am writing my Grandfather\'s biography and would love to know some of the places he travelled to. Do you know where this information can be found? I assume there must be a ships log or similar from the period.
Any help would be appreciated.

I purchased and still own a very old oil lamp made from solid brass & copper with the original wick and oil container. There is clear glass between the bottom tank and the top flue. On the sides are 4 (2 each side) copper metal rings which I believe slide over 2 rods at the stern of a boat/ship. I think the oil lamp was used as a white stern light or anchor light in the early days. Of real interest to your members is a copper oval shaped badge attached to the lamp with the words \"H.M.S. BARHAM - S.No.99272 - SOUTHAMPTON\". I think this is an original lamp and not a reproduction because of the weight of the item and the method of manufacture. However, I am enlisting the advice/comments from any of your members who may be able to throw any light onto the item. I am willing to sell this lamp around the world but thought I would contact the Assoc. before I listed it. Photographs can be sent via email (I have already sent photos to Ray Oliver and Sara Wrigley of the HMS Barham Assoc.) Thanks in advance. Nigel |

My mother died a while ago and I am going through many momentos. One is a HMS BARHAM calender for 1942.It is a simple card with a pressed ship\'s emblem, a photograph of the ship and below the traditional calender about 3inX1.5in.Under the flap is the traditional message \"With Every Good Wish for Christmas and the New Year From\" and signed \"Frank Barbour\". I see that he is listed as one of the survivors.Did the ship ever pass through Durban,South Africa. |

Hi, does anyone have a memory or story about Richard (Craig) Raines, he was my father and a survivor of the Barham, his battle station was the starboard 4 inch gun. He was a Newfoundlander. Thanks |
