Hi guys I came across this page as I was researching this ship I bought a brass lamp as I like old stuff and it has a oval plaque on it that says hms barham Southampton just wondering if anyone can tell me about it After reading about this ship it was great to learn the things this ship went through, amazing considering I would never have heard of it if I never bought the lamp |

My uncle was in the Royal Marine Band on the Barham and was transferred shortly before she was sunk according to family tradition. I found your site after googling the ship's name. Not sure if there is any recored of him on here. |

Looking at my grandfather's old photos, I find one titled HMS. Barham at Spalato and another showing 2 trophys. One with a crowing cockerel on it and another with "International Fleet[?[ xxxxx Sport Challenge Cup" on a platform with a sign " "OURS" H.M.S."BARHAM" " Both photos are in the form of postcards. He was on board from Nov 1925 to Sept 26. Some googling shows the ship was part of the Mediterranean Fleet. I'd be interested to know what the trophies are. He was a stoker. |

I'm looking for anyone who remembers my great uncle, Eric Goddard, who served on both HMS Barham (where he perished when it sunk) and HMS York. He was born in York and lived in Barham, Hunts where there is a memorial plaque in the church. Any news welcome. Kind regards |
