Very interesting. My father Russell Grenfell was in the Navy in WWI and was friendly with the Commanding Officer of the Barham. And his wife Connie Cooke was my godmother. |

Stephen Godley |
Hi All. I have searched this wonderful site on a number of occasions trying to find information on my Grandad Stephen Godley.I understand he was on the Barham on his way home on leave and was one of the lucky ones. The only photo we have of him in uniform is the first official one. Can anyone shed light on photo 29 in Groups as to who the crew members are? I would also dearly love to get in touch with Archie Ross the gentleman mentioned in the latest newsletter as he was a stoker 1st class, the same as my grandad. If anyone can help please get in touch.
I would just like to say a big thank you to the site organisers for putting so much time and effort into it. I am sure that the whole crew would be proud of you. |

Hello
Wonderful site. I wish more ship groups would go to this effort
Can anyone tell me, what was the name of the Commanding Officer (s) between Captain Arthur W. Craig from 26 June 1915 and Captain Richard Horne from 1 October 1918.
Thanks in advance.

William Blakeman |
William Blakeman would have been my Great Uncle he was my Grandma's brother, she talked about him all the time and I only wish she could have seen this website before she passed away many years ago. I have all of Williams letters that were sent to my Grandma all those years ago including a Christmas card from when he was actually on the ship that my mum (Rita ) kindly gave me to cherish. I never new William but from what my Grandma said he was an extremely handsome, brave young man and I only hope he never suffered. Don't think my Grandma ever really got over his death so its nice to see something that keeps his memory alive. |

Hi guys I came across this page as I was researching this ship I bought a brass lamp as I like old stuff and it has a oval plaque on it that says hms barham Southampton just wondering if anyone can tell me about it After reading about this ship it was great to learn the things this ship went through, amazing considering I would never have heard of it if I never bought the lamp |
